Solvent Cement is used with PVC and ABS soil and waste pipe products to make a watertight, permanent joint. Solvent weld joints cannot be demounted once the joint has been made.When using solvent cement, always work in a well ventilated area and keep the cement away from heat sources or naked flames. You should ideally wear gloves and avoid any contact with skin - if contact does occur then wash thoroughly with soap and water.To make a solvent weld joint, first ensure that the outer wall of the pipe and the inner wall of the fitting are both clean and free from grit or swarf.
