They are used to give a longer, more sweeping curve when changing direction in a drainage system. This makes inspection and cleaning a simpler task.A concrete or brick inspection chamber or manhole is usually constructed around the channel access pipe, which is benched into a mortar or concrete mix. This allows the drain to be accessed for testing, inspection and cleaning in the normal manner.Each end of the channel bend pipe is chamfered to enable a swift connection to a 110mmsocketed pipe,coupling or other ring seal fitting.
